Do you know what I’m
saying in the photo? That’s right, the photo speaks. It’s
the word “play.” This is LIBRAS, Brazilian sign language.
I’ve taught deaf children for 18 years and I love what
I do. This is how I communicate for most of the day, even sometimes
when I’m dreaming. This is how I teach, how they learn,
and how I communicate with every one of the 260 students in the
school: through LIBRAS, a language like thousands of others around
the world. And “play” is one of the words that they
most like to see (hear with their eyes)! |
